Urinary Tract Infections
Home UTI Test Kits: A Simple Solution to A Common Problem
Because urinary tract infections sometimes require antibiotics, it is crucial that patients can quickly identify them. The symptoms, however, can sometimes be mistaken for other conditions, such as vaginitis, an overactive bladder, kidney stones, or some sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). The only way to categorically determine whether the symptoms are caused by a UTI or another condition is for the patient to carry out a self-test.
Our Award Winning UTI test strips can…
- Provide a quick and easy way for you to test for a urinary tract infection.
- Overcome the inconvenience and wasted time of waiting for a GP appointment.
- Can be carried out in the privacy of home, without disrupting busy daily schedules.
- Offer results in a clear and easy-to-read format.
- Gives immediate peace of mind if the result is negative.
- Enables fast treatment if the test is positive.
Suresign Win Diagnostics and Health Checks Award for Their UTI Test
We are delighted to announce that our Suresign UTI Test has won the Diagnostics & Health Checks Award Category in the Pharmacy Product of the Year Awards 2024. The annual awards, organised by the Independent Community Pharmacist organisation, are the UK’s leading professional recognition awards for over the counter (OTC) medicines and pharmacy-based medical services.
What the award means
The award signifies that pharmacists found our test to be the most convenient in the category, validating the efforts of our team over the past few years to develop an accurate, straightforward, and cost-effective UTI testing product for pharmacies and their customers.
Our Director of UK & Republic of Ireland Retail Sales, Lyndsay Lynch, had this to say:
“We’re really pleased that we have won this award. To win Product of The Year is amazing for the company, because of all the team involved, a cumulative effort of all the staff at CIGA Healthcare.”
About the product
Our Suresign UTI test was launched in 2019 to meet expanding market demand for self-test diagnostics available through pharmacies, online retailers, and wholesalers. UTI tests are home self-tests used to detect the presence of bacteria in the urinary tract, which may indicate the patient has a urinary tract infection (UTI). Laboratory analysis typically involves analysing a customer’s urine sample for tell-tale markers of infection, including bacteria and white blood cells.
Until several years ago, UTI testing was conducted through the GP as part of the wider urinalysis process, which also involved the visual, chemical, and microscopic investigation of urine to detect various conditions beyond urine infections, including underlying metabolic disorders and kidney disease.
By isolating the UTI diagnostic element within a compact and easy-to-use self-serve testing kit, our product takes the pressure off GP services and NHS diagnostic laboratories, while providing faster diagnosis and treatment for patients.
